Bryce T. Hensley

Attorney at Law

Attorney at Law

Bryce T. Hensley is an attorney at Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, where he works in the firm’s complex litigation group representing individual and classes of victims of toxic exposures, product defects, civil rights violations, fraud, sexual harassment, wrongful death, injuries from vaping and JUUL use, and other catastrophic personal injuries.

Bryce was inspired to serve as a personal injury attorney, recognizing that earning a law degree is a tremendous privilege and provides the opportunity to help those who are most vulnerable and in need.

In helping manage the firm’s complex litigation practice, Bryce represents victims of: the October 1, 2017 shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada; Sterigenics’ ethylene oxide emissions in Willowbrook, Illinois; RoundUp herbicide exposure around the country; the public housing heating crisis in New York City; 3M’s defective combat earplugs across the country; a toxic chemical spill in Beach Park, Illinois; chemical dumping and groundwater contamination in Union, Illinois; and police misconduct in the City of Chicago.

In October 2019, along with Principal and Partner, Antonio M. Romanucci, being appointed Lead Counsel in the Sterigenics litigation by the Circuit Court of Cook County, Bryce was appointed as the Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel. In that position, he is the representative of the nearly two dozen firms representing victims in the litigation before the Court and with defendants’ counsel. He is also responsible for the coordination, organization, and management of nearly 50 pending cases.

Bryce has also tried cases alongside Principal and Partner, Antonio M. Romanucci. While still a law clerk, his knowledge of litigation technology and trial strategy was instrumental in winning a $44.7 million verdict against the City of Chicago for Michael D. LaPorta. This is the largest verdict ever returned in a police misconduct lawsuit against the city of Chicago and in the state of Illinois.

Bryce has since been responsible for defending and working to secure that verdict for Mr. LaPorta and his family in post-trial and appellate proceedings. Bryce has briefed, argued, and won numerous motions and appeals in state and federal courts. Most notably, in December 2018, he argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and reversed the District Court’s grant of summary judgment against his client (Lewis v. City of Shreveport, et al., 765 Fed. Appx. 93 (5th Cir. 2019)).

Bryce has also assisted settling numerous cases during this time, including: a multimillion-dollar settlement against the Archdiocese of Chicago for the sexual abuse of a minor child; a $2.25 million settlement against a multi-purpose arena in a premises liability case that resulted in a client suffering a fractured ankle and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); and a $610,000 settlement on behalf of a client with a herniated disc due to an automobile collision.

Mr. Hensley graduated in the top eight percent of his class at Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2017, earning him the honor of graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While at Chicago-Kent, Mr. Hensley was the captain of the school’s nationally-ranked trial advocacy team, where he earned the Best Advocate Award at the national Tournament of Champions. Mr. Hensley was also one of just 16 individual students selected from around the country to attend the prestigious Top Gun Trial Competition at Baylor University.

In the classroom, Mr. Hensley earned the CALI award for achieving the highest grade in six of his classes. Mr. Hensley served as a teaching assistant for multiple semesters and upon graduation was inducted into the school’s Bar and Gavel Society for his extensive service and dedication to the law school community.

Mr. Hensley earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013
