R&B Statement on Covid-19

Posted on: March 16th, 2020 by Romanucci & Blandin

Dear friends and clients,

Here at Romanucci & Blandin, LLC we are meeting this extraordinary time with both confidence and measured caution. We have taken substantial steps to ensure that the spread of the Covid-19 will be limited in its effects of any contamination on our team. We wanted to share with you the leadership steps we have taken to ensure the continuity of our important work on your behalf.

In accordance to the guidelines set by the CDC, our office will shift to full remote work beginning later today. Our superior office and communications technology, resilience and the resourcefulness of our staff will make it possible to continue to work at normal pace and volume, although we may not all be in the office together. We are hopeful that the virus can be contained and our team can be back in the office together – and with you – soon. In the meantime, when you call us, we will answer the phone. When you email us, we will email you back. For those appointments when an in-person meeting would normally be preferred or required, we will effort a video call solution so that our cases and conversations may progress. We value your health, that of our staff, and everyone’s loved ones, and have confidence that together we can pivot to keep justice moving forward at this time.

Furthermore, the Chief Judge for the Circuit Court of Cook County has announced a 30-day shutdown of the courts. What that means for you, is that within the next 30 days there will be no civil trials proceeding although Cook County, although emergency motions will continue to be heard. Routine status motions and appearances will be continued. Our office has joined the Chief Judge’s office in monitoring the situation and ensuring that everyone receives their day in court. We are in contact with federal and other local courts, as well, and aware of their similar decisions. Furthermore, the Workers’ Compensation Commission is suspending all normal in-person arbitration and Commission review operations until the end of March, but may make space available as needed for emergency hearings or other extremely time-sensitive matters on a case-by-case basis. Be assured, R&B will be properly positioned to reengage with all of these bodies the minute normal schedules are reinstated.

We are happy to answer any questions. We wish you all continue to be safe, healthy and happy. Your family at Romanucci & Blandin cares very deeply about you and we wish nothing but the the best for you, including the securing of justice for which you have entrusted us.

Thank you to our dedicated attorneys, staff and leadership team for their unwavering commitment and level heads during this challenge. We expect that, as a firm, we will emerge from this situation even better, stronger and more adept than before. As always, we value the confidence you have placed in us, and we will steadfastly continue the pursuit of justice on your behalf.

God bless you all,

Tony and Stephan
