$2,500,000 Settlement – Surgical Error

Our 43-year-old client underwent an elective hysterectomy where during the procedure, the defendant surgeon allegedly sutured the bowel to the abdominal wall. The error resulted in a bowel perforation, multiple abdominal abscesses, and an infection, which the defendants failed to timely identify and treat. Subsequently, she suffered respiratory failure, for which she required intubation, Klebsiella pneumonia and parapneumonic effusion. Furthermore, she underwent placement of a spinal cord stimulator for management of pain that resulted from her injuries.
