$8,000,000 Settlement – Medical Malpractice

The Romanucci & Blandin medical malpractice team secured an $8 million dollar settlement on behalf of our client who was born with a mild form of Hirschsprung’s disease, which affects the nerve cells in the large intestine and affects a baby’s ability to pass stool. Following a standard surgery shortly after birth to cure the disease, the child was able to function fairly normally until being treated by the defendant physician who performed an experimental bowel surgery--which failed, leading to complications when she was four-years-old. Despite multiple attempted revision surgeries, the minor plaintiff, who is now 14-years-old, requires a colostomy bag to pass her bowel movements.
