$4,250,000 Settlement – Police Misconduct

On June 6, 2018, Chicago Police Officer Sheldon Thrasher shot 24-year-old Maurice while he was trying to climb a fence after he ran from officers conducting a routine drug investigation. Body worn camera evidence showed Officer Thrasher discharging his firearm striking Maurice in the back through the fence, while he was unarmed. Maurice is survived by his two daughters.
