Federal Police Reform Proposal Presented by Attorneys Crump and Romanucci to Restore Trust in Communities
2020 was a year in which the country and the world came to an overdue awakening about injustices in policing and the need for reform across the country. Civil rights attorneys Ben Crump and Antonio M. Romanucci, who represent the family of George Floyd and other victims of excessive force by police, have recommendations for federal police reform to create lasting national change in the way law enforcement engages with Black Americans. The reform recommendations detail specific steps to increase professionalism in policing, create greater accountability and transparency, and reform hiring and training practices to create a national standard for law enforcement. This video is a companion to those recommendations and shows both the urgent need for change and the opportunity for our nation to act now.
