Chicago teen says she is grieving for Daniel Prude, her father

Nicolette Ward, a lawyer who answered questions in the news conference, said Thursday afternoon that her firm was hired several weeks ago to represent two Chicago-area people who say they are Prude’s children. Ward declined to discuss whether there had been a custody issue with the children.

Ward said Prude had five children, and her firm, Romanucci & Blandin, now represents Tashyra and another daughter, Junera.

Romanucci & Blandin represents the family of George Floyd in its civil suit against the City of Minneapolis and its police department. Floyd was killed by asphyxiation from police in May; his death sparked a national movement for policing reforms and equitable racial treatment within the criminal justice system.
