City’s failure to enforce Nichols ordinances ‘deeply disturbed’ legal team
Tyre Nichols family’s legal team said Friday, Jan. 5, that it was “deeply disturbed” by former Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland’s acknowledgment that the city had not enforced the police reform ordinances passed in the wake of Nichols’ beating and death.
MLK50, a nonprofit news outlet, reported Wednesday that Strickland told the Memphis City Council he hadn’t enforced or signed the ordinances.
