Report of deputy-involved fatal shooting doesn't sync with parts of sheriff's initial account
Some details in a recent report of an incident in which a Bexar County deputy fatally shot a man following a mental health episode conflict with Sheriff Javier Salazar's initial description.
A custodial death report regarding the shooting of Nicholas Norris in West Bexar County on Sept. 30 — submitted to the Texas Attorney General's Office last month — doesn't mention key elements that Salazar described immediately following the incident. For example, the new report says nothing about a deputy hanging from Norris' vehicle as the sheriff said occurred.
