Tyre Nichols' parents, supporters hold vigil tracing night of deadly beating

The parents of Tyre Nichols, who was 29 when he was beaten by Memphis Police officers in 2023, joined supporters for a march Tuesday — exactly two years after the beating.

"Thank you to everyone that came out to be with our family," RowVaughn Wells, Tyre's mother, told a crowd of supporters. "You didn’t have to be here with us and we appreciate that so much."
