Ben Crump Joined by Antonio Romanucci Investigating the Police Shooting Death of Frederick Cox, Jr.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump announces the addition of Antonio Romanucci of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC in Chicago as co-counsel in the case involving the shooting death of 18-year-old Frederick Cox, Jr. in High Point, North Carolina. Mr. Cox was shot multiple times by a plainclothes deputy from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department on November 8, 2020 outside the Living Water Baptist Church. At the time of the shooting, Mr. Cox was trying to assist several people into the church to avoid the danger of a drive-by shooting.
Mr. Romanucci joins local co-counsel McPherson & Mills, PLLC in representing the family of Mr. Cox. Attorneys Crump and Romanucci together represent a number of other victims of police misconduct including George Floyd, Daunte Wright, Javier Ambler, Daniel Prude and others.
“As yet another Black family in America mourns the loss of a young man at the hands of police, we call for law enforcement to be transparent and accountable. What happened outside that church was tragic and a young man who was trying to get others to safety ended up dead,” Crump said.
“The investigation is intensifying to uncover all the facts of this case and law enforcement in Davidson County is now on notice. There are too many unanswered questions and we are committed to the truth for this grieving family,” said Romanucci.
