Highland Park mass shooting survivors and loved ones react to hearing for Robert Crimo III

June 26, 2024

CHICAGO (June 26, 2024) - The following statement is released by the legal teams at Everytown Law, Paul, Weiss Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and Romanucci & Blandin, who together represent more than 50 shooting survivors and families of those who lost loved ones at the Highland Park Fourth of July parade two years ago:

"Today's calculated decision by Robert Crimo III to reject a plea deal in open court was an intentional effort to continue his personal reign of terror and to retraumatize those who were injured or lost loved ones in the Highland Park Fourth of July mass shooting two years ago. Our clients are fiercely committed to holding him accountable and will not be shaken by his efforts to manipulate the process.  We are humbled by our clients' bravery and resilience.

Our legal team will continue working diligently and expeditiously to obtain justice for the families through the civil litigation process against Robert Crimo III, his father and the gun companies that made the July 4th shooting possible, including Smith & Wesson. We are committed to our pursuit of justice and accountability, and to ensuring our clients have their day in court."
