Partner Joseph E. Kolar completes 3-year term as President of Bohemian Lawyers’ Association of Chicago
Romanucci & Blandin, a national trial firm primarily based in Chicago, announces that Partner Joseph E. Kolar has completed his extended term as President of the Bohemian Lawyers’ Association of Chicago (BLA). Joseph was installed as President in May 2019 and his service ended in June 2022. BLA Presidents have historically served for only one year, and he is believed to be the longest-serving President in the history of the organization.
Organized in 1911, the BLA is comprised of attorneys of Czech, Slovak, Moravian, Silesian and Ruthenian ancestry, as well as attorneys who have an interest in the culture and heritage of the Czech Republic or Slovakia. The Covid-19 pandemic was the second pandemic endured by the BLA.
Joseph was President of the BLA when the pandemic began in 2020. He held membership meetings in a parking lot next to the restaurant where the BLA usually met. He also conducted many BLA meetings by Zoom. At the end of that term, he agreed to continue in that role for another year during the crisis, and then further agreed to continue in 2021 for another year. In-person BLA meetings resumed in the Fall of 2021.
On June 7, 2022 a new President was installed for the BLA.
"I am very proud to be a member of the Bohemian Lawyers. I was never going to leave the association without a President because of the pandemic, and I'm honored to have served the organization in trying times," said Joseph E. Kolar, Partner, Romanucci & Blandin.
