New Orleans is sued a second time by victims of Bourbon Street vehicle attack
Twenty-one people injured in the New Year’s Day ramming attack on Bourbon Street have sued New Orleans city officials and contractors for negligence, alleging that the city’s failure to install bollards or take other measures to protect revelers amounted to a blatant disregard for public safety.
In the second lawsuit filed since Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar used his F-150 to kill 14 people and injure dozens more, plaintiffs say city officials had a “duty of care” to protect thousands of revelers on Bourbon Street, since the city promotes the famous strip as a safe place to party.
