Background
Judge Tassone is a mediator and arbitrator with extensive experience resolving a wide variety of business, commercial and construction and personal injury disputes.
An associate judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County from 1983 to 1988, he has practiced law since he retired from the bench. He began his career as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service and worked as a tax manager at Coopers & Lybrand before beginning his legal career.
Judge Tassone received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University and his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has trained extensively in alternative dispute resolution, including negotiation study at Harvard Law School. He was named one of the top ten mediators/arbitrators in Illinois by Chicago magazine in 2005 and 2006. He received the Justinian Award of Excellence from the Justinian Society of Lawyers in September 2023.
He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Florida, the Northern District of Illinois, U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
